ZBASE Live! Enables Model Search and Download Capabilities for Consumer Electronics and Set-Top Boxes

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8, 2009 – Zilog, Inc., a global supplier of innovative embedded control solutions, introduced today at CES the ZBASE Live!™ web portal that supports Model Search and Download and offers consumer electronics and set-top boxes real-time access to the industry’s most comprehensive Universal Infrared (UIR) database.

ZBase Live! enables model search capabilities that allow consumer electronics and set-top box users to look up the universal remote control set-up codes for the specific make and model of the device they are trying to control. Likewise, the download capabilities provide customers a way to download a new or missing UIR code over the Internet to a download-capable remote control.

Hosted on Zilog servers, the ZBASE Live! Model Search and Download web portal is targeted at the remote control market that includes remote control manufacturers and device manufacturers providing universal remote controls with their systems. ZBASE Live! provides an application programming interface (API) to allow consumer electronic and set-top box manufacturers to customize their devices based on their own website branding guidelines.
