I've read the latest Channel newsletter, and once again the App Design contest is being spruiked, but in the Vaults of Zilogia, only the steady drip, drip, drip of data can be heard in the darkness...

It would be helpful to know what the rules of the competition are, what can be submitted, guidelines, and so on.

It looks like this contest will exclude non-US citizens, so that's me out of the race.

I'm not sure if I'm in the minority or not (based on the few posts in these forums), but would it be possible to make the contest international in future runnings?

As it turns out, I'm still waiting on an answer for a bug in the eZ80F91 PWM module, so my FUN design wouldn't be ready in any case (based on the requirement to have fully functioning code).

But I'm sure this will generate some interest! I can't wait to see what folks are doing with Zilog gear.

Sorry about the US only deal on the current contest we are looking to broaden it out everywhere. The reason is pretty simple, our legal team had concerns about how each country's rules and regs on contests, awarding prizes etc. goes and since they didn't know of course slowed the train down till they did. Trouble with corporations always want everything so tidy.....

Any chance Zilog will have a tie-in promotion with this contest of development kits? Might be a nice consolation for those non-US people that couldn't participate in this one.

Last time I remember Zilog doing such a thing was in either 2004 or 2005 with $10 eZ8 development kits. The last Zilog contest was around this time (and it had international entry):

I just took a look at your link and suggestion and I believe we should follow-up and put something like this together. We may run it as a different type of program but its spot on!

If you hadn't jumped on this I would not have known about this previous program and we are listening....
