I had the feeling you're speaking of since I became acquainted with the eZ80. Lip-service to growth.

(aside) My daughter (back in elementary school) once told me about a game they played at school called Google-whacking. The goal is to think of 2 words to put into a search that only give 10 results or less.

Back then eZ80 code samples nearly qualified. This silence was disquieting.

It hasn't grown that I can tell. In fact, I don't use the very latest Dev tools for the Z8 or eZ80 because they generate bad code (reported). So I force myself to be content with a solution I wouldn't have chosen nor recommended. They are both very good in their niche, but using a different platform could give us an avenue for growth and instead of waiting to hit the wall with expansion.

We have added many new reference designs and application notes and continue to release references designs. We have a list of reference designs and application notes that are in process. We are always looking for additional app note and reference design ideas to assist with customer development/application/implementations.

We also have added:
ZGate - Embedded firewall with the TCP/IP stack on the eZ80F91 core
ZMotion - both occupancy and Intrusion parts
Z8051 - Added embedded debug capabilities in conjunction with Keil development tools.
Z8051 - Added an API to incorporate the Debugger into other development kits as well.

We are currently working on a new part (based on the Zilog core) to be released around Q2/Q3 of 2013.

What about new goodies for the ez80F91? On the old web site you guys had a lot more app notes.

I looked up those parts you mentioned - I see some stuff for zmotion in stock - but zgate and z8051 are apparently non-existent (one zGate kit at Mouser). As a designer, I would only select parts that I can see distributors have stock.

Whatever happened to ZDots by the way?

You need to search for Z51F
www.findchips.com/avail?part=Z51F

plenty of stock and the 'G' development kits are cheaper.

There were some Variable Watch handling issues for SDCC/ Mod51 that I fed back bug reports to the Developer on, not sure if they are in the Zilog releases yet ?

Digikey has stock for all Z8051 parts and development kits as well as the ZGate parts and development kit.

The eZ80F91 should have the same app notes as the old website. I show 34 applicaiton notes for the eZ80 product lines. We currently do have one applicaiton note for the eZ80F91 in process.
If you have some applicaiton note ideas you would like to see for eZ80, we are looking for ideas for useful application notes.

I am not sure which ZDot you are referring to. The eZ80F91705 (ZDot SBC ASSP part) is an active part and Digikey has stock.
