Hi Mike
As far as I know, there are no plans to end of life either variant
As for the Firmware, yes, most of it is backwards compatible.
There are new features added as well.
There is a technical note on the migration located:
www.zilog.com/docs/TN0052.pdf

This document will help you identify if there are any changes that are required.

Difference between eZ80-F91AZ050 and eZ80-F91AZA50 1 Month ago Karma: 0
Hi

I've got a design which uses the Xilog eZ80-F91AZ050SG flash microcontroller from the eZ80 Acclaim! range.
I can see that there is now a AcclaimPlus! range and I'm wondering if the eZ80F91AZA50SG device is a drop in replacement from a firmware point of view as it looks like it's pin compatible? Any gotcha's?
What are the long-term availability of each of the variants looking like?

Many thanks

Mike
