Z8 Encore! XP 8 Pin Dimmer
This application depicts the usage of Z8 Encore! XP 8 Pin microcontroller for dimmer application. The dimmer discussed here supports both 50Hz and 60Hz AC frequencies. The dimmer intensity is controlled by a potentiometer. The on-chip peripherals such as comparator, analog to digital converter (ADC) and timer of the Z8 Encore! XP 8 pin microcontroller are used in the development of dimmer application.

Sourcing Power Over Ethernet
This Reference Design describes ZiLOG’s Z8 Encore! XP® based power sourcing equipment(PSE) design for power over Ethernet(POE) enabled devices connected to local area network (LAN). Power over Ethernet is a cost-effective solution which allows data and power to be sourced over the same Ethernet cable connected to power devices (PD) such as VOIP telephones, WLAN transmitters, and security cameras. Power devices are connected to PSE using standard Ethernet cable with no separate power supply connection.

Using Z8 Encore! XP MCU for current measurement
This Application describes the process of measuring current using the Trans-impedance Amplifier with the help of ADC.

Z8 Encore! XP F0830 based low cost NiMH battery charger
This Application describes the process of charging of NiMH battery by controlling the PWM dutycycle dynamically on the basis of efficient feed back using ADC.
